The latest digital zine created exclusively for paid members of the Movies of Note collective is here!

This month, I pose the question, is The Bride of Frankenstein (1935) a feminist icon?

Drawing on everything from Buffy to Henrik Ibsen, this zine is both a celebration of the film’s monstrous icon and a feminist lens on the cost of saying no. With thoughtful analysis and a touch of my trademark sardonic humour, I argue that without the Bride, we might never have arrived at the more nuanced depictions of artificial womanhood seen in films like Her and Ex Machina.

I believe this to be a a vital, vivid read for cinephiles, feminists, and fans of horror history. I very much hope you agree!
